Classic Movies Re-imagined in a Different Time and Place

These alternative movie posters are so realistic you’ll be tricked into thinking that they are real!

Hollywood has completely run out of ideas. Our cinemas are chock a block with remakes, reboots and sequels that nobody asked for!

Has we are talking about remakes let’s put a twist on the whole re-imagining idea and think of a collection of your favourite classic movie blockbusters from the last twenty years and stick them in a time machine and see what they may have looked like if they were made thirty, forty or fifty years prior. What would they have been like? Who would’ve have starred in them? Who would have made them and what would the movie poster look like?

We can honestly say that we can actually answer that last question! New York Artist and Illustrator Peter Stults has been creating the re-imagined movie posters since 2011 in the series What if: Movie Posters Reimagined in a Different Place/Time.

The posters are truly amazing work and the re-imagined casting of the main stars and directors is spot-on. Just take a look at Cary Grant in Kingsman-The Secret Service, Sean Connery in The Fifth Element, The Rat Pack as Reservoir Dogs, James Dean in Drive and Woody Allen in The 40 Year-Old Virgin.
