Rise of the Robots – The History of Transformers #Infographic

The Transformers 4  movie will be released very soon but kids today may not realise that the whole franchise is over 30 years old. 

The Transformers toy line had its beginnings in 1983 when Hasbro representatives attended the Tokyo Toy Fare to find something promising that could be imported to the North American Market. Takara, a Japanese toy company, at the same time was showcasing the Diaclone and Micro Change Series. These series of toys consisted of robots that transformed and the rights were quickly snapped up by Hasbro to release under a single brand to avoid confusion with similar toy lines.

Thus, The Transformers were born…
