Steampunk is a subgenre, which is a mash-up of sci-fi and the 19th century British Victorian era or the American Wild West.

The term “steam punk” was first used in 1978 by the sci-fi author Kevin Jeter. Usually set in a dystopian future where the power of steam is the mainstay and driver of technology and even fashion. You could say steampunk is retro-futuristic or neo-Victorian!

These cakes are all influenced by steampunk and feature a variety of big Zeppelins, cranks, pipes, timepieces and of course a selection of cogs.
