These colourful artworks certainly like to play a trick on your eyes. Take a closer look at the next set of photos and tell me what you see.
Have you managed to spot the people blended into the backgrounds? These amazing bodypaintings were all created by one of the best bodypainters in the world – Johannes Stötter.
Replacing the traditional canvas with the human body, each creation can take up to 5 months to perfectly plan and the designs can take anything from a few hours to as long as 8 hours to create. The hard work pays off though as Johannes came 1st in 2012 in the Bodypainting World Championship.
“Bodypainting is special because the artwork is alive and can move. While a canvas painting lasts forever, a bodypainting exists only for a few hours. The skin is very different to canvas – it is alive, it is soft and warm, it is a very comfortable base to paint on”
