The Totally Charged and Action-Packed Artwork Of Walter Molino

You may need a stiff drink once you’ve gotten though these intense images!

What amazing stories could have been the inspiration behind these supercharged and action-packed illustrations by Italian artist Walter Molino?

Molino was an illustrator and caricaturist from the 20th century. He was born in 1915 and died in 1997 aged 82. Molino began his professional career as an illustrator and caricaturist in 1935 for Il Popolo d’Italia newspaper and also for the children’s magazines Il Monello and L’intrepedo.

Molino moved onto the satirical magazine Bertoldo and then a number of comic strips which he created with Federico Pedrocchi who provided the texts.

In 1941 Molino became the cover-illustrator for La Domenica del Corriere, which was a weekly newspaper and he created these awesome action illustrations, which are just totally awe-inspiring. Filled with extreme action scenes with characters that resemble movie stars.

The images could almost be freeze frames of scenes from an action movie. Featuring car crashes, explosions, children in danger, war zones, UFOS and heroic acts of bravery although some of them look kind of heartbreaking

Hope you enjoy…
