What if Disney Princesses Were in 1940’s Film Noir?

These princesses don’t look so sweet and innocent

These Disney princesses are kick-ass and certainly wouldn’t be taking s**t from anyone!

San Diego freelancer and illustrator Astor Alexander has created this amazing series titled Noir Princesses. The series features an array of princesses from classic Disney movies in a crime noir setting and they certainly don’t look as sweet and innocent as we are used to seeing them.

The series which is based on Hollywood’s classical film noir period that extends from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. The term Film noir is primarily used to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those which emphasize sexual motivations and cynical attitudes. Film noir can encompass a range of plots and the central figure usually is a private investigator, detective or simply a victim of circumstance who is lured into a life of crime and there usually features a femme fatale too.
