Pokémon Go seems to have literally taken over the world over the last couple of months and has become a genuine global phenomenon.
And while you’re just as likely to see a 20 something walking round a pond staring at their phone scanning for a Blastoise as you are a young child, it’s interesting to think that we haven’t really seen a genuine playground craze for a good few years.
The folks at Twizzle party planners clearly thought the same, as they’ve produced this wonderfully nostalgic infographic looking at some of the biggest playground fads of the 1980s and 1990s.
It feels like the world is revelling in 90s nostalgia at the moment, with film franchises such as Jurassic Park making a comeback, and there’s even talks of a Spice Girls reunion!
It’s difficult to believe that the 90s were already 20 years ago, but this infographic takes us right back, whether you’re a child of the 90s or were a parent!
Some of them, such as Pokémon cards and the Rubik’s Cube are particularly memorable, but you’ll be surprised at how many you had forgotten about!
For example, do you remember Casio calculator watches? Or what about Corinthian football figures!
Which ones do you remember? Or like all good crazes, did they wind up getting banned from your school!
Who knows what the next big craze will be, but it’ll certainly be interesting to look back in another 20 years and see if we still remember the ones that have been and gone!
