If you were asked to think of a famous movie car then I’m pretty sure the DeLorean DMC12 would be top of the list!
It is such an iconic car and all thanks to its time-travelling antics in the Back to The Future Trilogy.
The DeLorean Motor Company was originally founded by John DeLorean in 1975 and had a very turbulent history and resulted in the company collapsing in 1982. The car, although hasn’t been manufactured for nearly 40 years, is still a cult classic and has a huge following.
But what do you think the DeLorean DMC12 would look like if it was made today?
Spanish Car Designer Angel Guerra has envisioned his own take on the 80s classic and as you can see it looks absolutely stunning and if Joyenergizer had the money and a chance to fund this project we definitely would!
Angel says “I do not exactly remember how old I was when I watched for the first time Back to the Future, maybe 6, 7 years old? But I can tell you that almost forty years ago, that car and that movie overclocked my mindset forever. Ever since that car rolled down the ramp of the truck in “Back to the future” I knew that I will be a car designer.”
“I completed this project in just two weeks, during my free time, and the reason behind it all was that I have failed to see any good proposal in recent years for a new, modern DeLorean, meanwhile the original car and the movie are still present in the collective memory of several generations.
I have been thinking that with a new proposal I could start a movement to bring this idea to the fore and maybe have a new, modern DeLorean and a new movie for the 40th anniversary of both; DeLorean (1981), Back to the future (1985).
Of course, this project is not related to either the DeLorean Motor Company brand or the movie Back to the Future, this is just a design tribute without any commercial activity.”

He did a great job!!! Obviously I’m a fan of the original design, but what he did really brings old school up to date with a modern edge. I’d likely be ok with this version.
Love this renderings! He did a fantastic job. I do love the original Delorean, but seeing it in a modern form is pretty amazing as well.
