50 Classic Decks – Skateboard Art from the 80s and 90s

All these decks really make me feel nostalgic.

A couple of years ago I did a featured on some of my favourite artists who have inspired me for decades. The talented father and son duo of Jim & Jimbo Philips.

Between them they have created some of the best skateboard deck art, merchandise and branding for one of the biggest skate companies in the world – Santa Cruz.

I wanted to follow that up by showcasing a collection of classic skateboard deck designs from the old days, when I used to skateboard myself. All these decks really make me feel nostalgic. I remember seeing all these decks lining the walls of my local skate shop back in the day and I used to own a few too. I think the Rob Roskopp Face and Hugh ‘Bod’ Boyle Stained Glass designs which are both by Santa Cruz deck are still my all time favourite skateboards.

The designs are not just from Santa Cruz, but from skate companies such Powell Peralta, Vision, Santa Monica Airlines and Deathbox too.
