They say you eat with your eyes and that is definitely the case when it comes to creative Bento Food Art!

Bento (弁当 bentō) is basically a packed lunch in Japan which comprises rice, fish or meat, with cooked vegetables and usually in a box-shaped container.

There are a number of styles of Bentos. There is kyaraben which is a character bento and are typically decorated to look like popular characters from Japanese anime,manga or video games.

There is also the style of oekakiben which is a picture bento. These bentos are decorated to look like people, animals, buildings and monuments, or items such as flowers and plants.
