What Does Pizza Look Like Around the World? #Infographic

From the extra thick Chicago deep-dish to the Turkish Lahmacun, from the lesser known pizza bianca from Rome to the Lebanese Manakish, there are so many different delicious interpretations of this pizza across the globe. Here we take a look a what each variation across the world looks like.

There are certain cuisines and certain beverages which are enjoyed in every corner of the globe. No matter the nation of origin, they are embraced by cultures far and wide.

However, as they make their way from nation to nation, continent to continent, they are tweaked, adapted and interpreted by different cultures to better suit their tastes.

In the world of drinks, beer is undoubtedly a great example of this. One of, if not the most popular alcoholic refreshment around the world, beer exists in a number of different forms.

For example, in Britain ale is the more traditional drink, but as you move across Europe you find the stouts of Ireland (mainly Guinness), the strong lagers of Belgium and France and the pilsners of Germany and beyond.

There are a number of great examples in the world of food too, with the likes of burgers, cakes and curries all enjoyed around the world in their different variations.

Potentially the world’s most popular and varied dish is one which originated in Italy. It is, of course, the pizza.

There are a number of different incarnations of the pizza other than the traditional tomato and cheese circular delight we know and love.
